My name is Andrea Ewing Callicutt, but most of my friends and colleagues call me “Drea”. I am a thirty-something communications professional, MLS student, wife, animal-lover, and geek. I hold a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism from Washington and Lee University and am on target to graduate with a Masters in Library Science concentrating in special libraries from North Carolina Central University in June of 2014. For ten years, I have worked for a library software company based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Most of our customers are Talking Book and Braille libraries and resource centers providing alternative learning materials to students with special needs. Dealing with these types of libraries, their patrons, and staff made me more aware and particularly interested in accessibility and assistive technologies.
When I am not working or in school, I am involved in a nonprofit living history organization focused on the middle ages. My personal interests are life in medieval Brittany and clothing of late 14th-early 15th century France and England.
